How to get to San Andres in Colombia<\/h2>\n

In Brazil, there are no direct flights to reach the island. Therefore, Latam airlines travel from Brazil to San Andres with a stop in Bogot\u00e1 and Copa Airlines connects in Panama.<\/p>\n

At the time we went, we left Peru, precisely from Cusco to San Andr\u00e9s and made two stops, one in Lima and the other in Medell\u00edn.<\/p>\n

An extra tip:<\/strong> is to travel only with handbag or backpack<\/a> if possible, as it is very hot there and you won't need to take much stuff.<\/p>\n

When is the best time to go to San Andr\u00e9s in Colombia<\/h2>\n

The island is generally hot all year round, but the best times to enjoy the landscapes and heat in the Caribbean are from January to May. On the other hand, September to November are more likely to have rain showers.<\/p>\n

We went in July 2022, where we had a few days of rain. However, it didn't hinder us at all on our trip there, as we took the day to explore the surrounding area by bike.<\/p>\n

Where to stay in San Andr\u00e9s<\/h2>\n

In San Andres there are not as many large resort structures as in Maldives<\/a><\/strong> for example. In other words, accommodation on the island is a little simpler, but just as cool.<\/p>\n

We worked in exchange for accommodation, we stayed in an eco hotel, with a very large space full of greenery and private rooms with bathroom and wonderful views. Where the place is located closest to West View of the island.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, we were staying a little far from the center, but as we had a bike available, it was very easy to get around.<\/p>\n

However, those who prefer even more ease can stay in the center. In addition to being busier, it is also the trendiest place and close to most of the area's attractions.<\/p>\n

Another very interesting option is the possibility of renting a golf cart or mule as it is called, to explore around the place, the whole day rental varies from USD$37 \/ 170 Brazilian real per day.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the island has the option of taking a taxi, where it is usually people even in cars who take the trip, and motorcycle taxis like in Brazil.<\/p>\n

Oh and guys, a tip so you don't get surprised when you arrive: it's very common for people who use motorbikes not to wear helmets, they use motorbikes a lot and without any protection.<\/p>\n

You don't pay taxes on the island, so as soon as you check in at the counter at the stopover or boarding airport, they ask you to pay the tourist card. In other words, it is a card that you fill in with your details and flight information.<\/p>\n

To enter San Andr\u00e9s, payment of this document is mandatory and the cost is approximately USD$40 (R$210.00).<\/p>\n

How to carry money in San Andres<\/h2>\n

In Colombia, the currency is the Colombian peso, where 1 real is equal to COP941.93. Even though the real is worth more, it's not worth converting at an exchange office in Brazil and taking pesos there. In the same way that it is not interesting to exchange money at an exchange office in San Andr\u00e9s, because the real in Colombia is not valued.<\/p>\n

I always recommend using a credit card that can be used in other countries, not the traditional bank credit card. But those that we put money into and can use anywhere, here in Brazil we have the options of the c6, the Nomad or the Wise.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

However, if you prefer to carry some notes in cash, I recommend converting reais into dollars in Brazil and\/or using an ATM withdrawal with a card (with the debit function). Therefore, the best ATMs to withdraw funds from are Bancolombia or the Bogot\u00e1 bank (limit of COP600,000).<\/p>\n

Uma dica extra: \u00e9 viajar somente com a mala de m\u00e3o ou mochila se poss\u00edvel, pois l\u00e1 \u00e9 muito calor e voc\u00ea n\u00e3o vai precisar levar muita coisa.   Qual a melhor \u00e9poca para ir a San Andr\u00e9s na Col\u00f4mbia Geralmente na ilha faz calor o ano todo, por\u00e9m as melhores \u00e9pocas para aproveitar mais das paisagens e do calor no Caribe \u00e9 de Janeiro a Maio. Por outro lado, de Setembro a Novembro s\u00e3o mais propensos a ter pancadas de chuva. N\u00f3s fomos em Julho de 2022, onde pegamos alguns dias de chuva.\u00a0Por\u00e9m, n\u00e3o nos atrapalhou em nada no nosso passeio por l\u00e1, uma vez que tiramos o dia para explorar aos arredores de bicicleta.     Onde se hospedar em San Andr\u00e9s Em San Andr\u00e9s n\u00e3o possui tantas estruturas de grandes resorts como em Maldivas por exemplo. Melhor dizendo, as hospedagens na ilha s\u00e3o um pouco mais simples, mas t\u00e3o bacanas quanto. N\u00f3s trabalhamos em troca de hospedagem, ficamos num eco hotel, com um espa\u00e7o bastante amplo cheio de verdes e quartos privados com banheiro e vistas maravilhosas. Onde o lugar fica localizado mais pr\u00f3ximo a West View da ilha. Al\u00e9m disso, n\u00f3s ficamos hospedadas um pouco longe do centro, mas como tivemos bike dispon\u00edveis, foi bem f\u00e1cil nos deslocar. Por\u00e9m, quem prefere ainda mais facilidade, pode ficar hospedado no centro. Al\u00e9m de ser mais movimentado, \u00e9 tamb\u00e9m o lugar mais badalado e perto da maioria das atratividades do lugar. \u00c1gua quente Al\u00e9m de hot\u00e9is, San Andr\u00e9s possui tamb\u00e9m v\u00e1rios Airbnbs dispon\u00edveis. Por\u00e9m a maioria das hospedagens n\u00e3o encontra \u00e1gua quente. Com exce\u00e7\u00e3o dos hot\u00e9is um pouco mais luxuosos, ent\u00e3o quando for alugar a estadia verificar essa quest\u00e3o.     Como \u00e9 o transporte no Caribe \u00c9 bem f\u00e1cil se deslocar na ilha de bicicleta como fizemos, levamos 3 horas para dar a volta completa na ilha, lembrando que fomos andando e parando para tirar fotos. Juntamente tamb\u00e9m para o mais econ\u00f4micos, tem a op\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00f4nibus que d\u00e1 a volta na ilha toda e leva at\u00e9 o centro ou at\u00e9 oura praia, se preferir. Outra op\u00e7\u00e3o bastante interessante, \u00e9 a possibilidade alugar um carrinho de golfe ou mule como \u00e9 chamado, para explorar ao redor do lugar, o aluguel do dia todo varia de 170 reais por dia. Do mesmo modo, a ilha tem a op\u00e7\u00e3o de ir de t\u00e1xi, onde normalmente s\u00e3o as pessoas mesmo de carro que fazem a corrida, e motot\u00e1xis como no Brasil. Ah e gente, uma dica para voc\u00ea n\u00e3o se espantar quando chegar: \u00e9 muito comum quem usa moto n\u00e3o usar capacete, eles usam bastante moto e sem prote\u00e7\u00e3o alguma.     O que \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio levar para entrar em San Andr\u00e9s Em San Andr\u00e9s como \u00e9 pertencente da Col\u00f4mbia, brasileiros podem entrar somente com RG, n\u00e3o necessariamente portando o passaporte. Por\u00e9m, se for fazer escala no Panam\u00e1, por exemplo, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio levar e apresentar o passaporte brasileiro no Panam\u00e1. \u00c9 importante levar o Certificado Internacional de Vacina de Febre Amarela que voc\u00ea solicita pelo site do governo nesse link aqui com no m\u00ednimo 10 dias de anteced\u00eancia.     Tarjeta de Turismo Na ilha n\u00e3o se paga imposto, ent\u00e3o logo que voc\u00ea faz o check in no balc\u00e3o do aeroporto de escala ou de embarque, eles pedem que pague a tarjeta de turismo. Ou seja, \u00e9 uma tarjeta que voc\u00ea preenche seus dados e informa\u00e7\u00f5es do voo. Para entrar em San Andr\u00e9s o pagamento desse documento \u00e9 obrigat\u00f3rio e o valor \u00e9 de aproximadamente $40 (R$210,00). Dica super importante: guarde bem esse documento depois que apresenta na entrada, pois ser\u00e1 necess\u00e1rio apresentar na sua sa\u00edda tamb\u00e9m, e se caso perder ter\u00e1 que pagar novamente.   Compras em San Andr\u00e9s Al\u00e9m das paisagens maravilhosas do mar azul, a ilha tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 famosa pela sua variedade de lojas, shop a c\u00e9u aberto e duty frees. Contando com v\u00e1rios produtos: como perfumes, eletr\u00f4nicos, chocolate, enfim, diversas coisas. Ent\u00e3o, para quem curte umas comprinhas, vai gostar muito de San Andres. Como eu disse l\u00e1 no comecinho, San Andres \u00e9 isento de impostos, ent\u00e3o facilita muito aos consumidores. Por\u00e9m, \u00e9 importante se atentar os lugares que compram para tomar cuidado com golpes ou falsifica\u00e7\u00e3o. Al\u00e9m de se atentar a hor\u00e1rios tamb\u00e9m, pois eles tem hora de siesta, ou seja, fechando ap\u00f3s o almo\u00e7o, reabrem a tarde e fecham antes do hor\u00e1rio comercial brasileiro.     Como levar dinheiro em San Andr\u00e9s Na Col\u00f4mbia, a moeda \u00e9 o peso colombiano, onde 1 real \u00e9 igual a COP941.93. Mesmo o real valendo mais, n\u00e3o vale a pena converter em uma casa de c\u00e2mbio no Brasil e levar pesos para l\u00e1. Do mesmo modo que n\u00e3o \u00e9 interessante trocar em alguma casa de c\u00e2mbio em San Andr\u00e9s, porque o real na Colombia n\u00e3o \u00e9 valorizado. Eu sempre recomendo usar cart\u00e3o de cr\u00e9dito que d\u00e1 para usar em outros pa\u00edses, n\u00e3o \u00e9 o cart\u00e3o de cr\u00e9dito tradicional dos banc\u00f5es. Mas sim aqueles que a gente coloca dinheiro e pode usar em qualquer lugar, aqui no Brasil tem a op\u00e7\u00f5es do c6, a Nomad ou o Wise. Por\u00e9m, se preferir levar algumas notas em esp\u00e9cie, recomendo converter reais em d\u00f3lares no Brasil e\/ou utilizar o saque no caixa eletr\u00f4nico com cart\u00e3o (na fun\u00e7\u00e3o d\u00e9bito).
