You must have heard of the Inca Empire, right? And if I tell you that in Peru there is the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where most of them are made of ruins and are full of stories that the ancients share with the new generation even today.<\/p>\n

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a group of 14 cities and towns and is located in the province of Urubamba, in Cusco, and for a long time, the center and heart of the Empire were formed and built.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ollantaytamboo \u2013 Sacred Valley of the Incas<\/h2>\n

The first place you need to visit is the charming town of Ollantaytamboo. In addition, the village is one of the main points and a mandatory stop on your way to the famous Machu Picchu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wherever you go, what draws the most attention are its unmistakable stone streets and landscapes with ruins built by the highly respected Incas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Warehouse on Pinkuylluna Mountain<\/h3>\n

One of the very cool and free access places for you to explore is the Warehouse on Pinkuylluna Mountain, your walk lasts 20 minutes. In ancient times, civilization used the structure to store agricultural products.<\/p>\n

In other words, they chose the hilltops for the fresh, cool air that kept the food ventilated. In addition to the view of the warehouse itself, you can enjoy the view of all of Ollantayamboo.<\/p>\n

Archaeological Site \u2013 Fortress<\/h3>\n

Our dear Ollanta, for those close to you, is one of the most important buildings in the Sacred Valley and is home to the immense Fortress.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your ticket is purchased through the local Tourist Ticket website, giving you access to the four attractions of the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Ollantaytambo, Moray, Pisac and Chincheros. Or you can purchase through this link<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Fortress, the locals tells the story that Emperor Pachacutec kept his daughter imprisoned after discovering that General Ollantay wanted to take her as his wife. However, due to its plebeian origin, the emperor kept it locked up for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, after many years of struggle, Pachacutec, his son and the new emperor decide to forgive Ollantay and his sister and they live together happily ever after.<\/span><\/p>\n

Above all, the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo is divided into two sectors: Qosqo Ayllu and Araccama Ayllu. Where the first is formed by the city with streets, squares and others. Araccama Ayllu is characterized by the presence of walls, squares, paths and platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Temple of the Sun<\/span><\/h3>\n

Imposing rock that was part of a larger structure that was dedicated to the cult of the sun. Nowadays it is composed of six pieces, which together form a single amazing building, assembled and polished. This construction was made with stone blocks of up to 40 tons. It is one of the most famous structures in Ollantaytambo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bath \u00f1usta\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is a set of aqueducts and canals that end in a fountain-shaped structure, which would have served as baths for the emperor's royal family. It has three exits that pour the same amount of water for hundreds of years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The real house of the sun\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is a composite of walls and facades that welcome visitors to Ollantaytambo in the religious and urban sector. Where It is formed by up to seventeen structures in polished stone of great size and quality. It is one of the most photographed structures in the village. From there you have a privileged view of the city and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The monumental portal\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

This structure, made up of high-quality walls and a set of ten niches, is the main access to the set of precincts of the Fortress. In Inca times, the place would have been decorated with gold and silver pieces on the windows. Currently, it is unfortunately damaged in one of its corners. It is one of the most famous structures in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los Fuerte Choqana\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

It has a set of walls and windows located outside the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, 2 kilometers from Cusco. During the time of the Incas, it served as a lookout point and checkpoint. It had \u2018colcas\u2019 warehouses, water tanks, viewpoints and surveillance structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ma\u00f1ayraqay Square (K'uychipunku) <\/span><\/h3>\n

Its name is a Quechua word (language of the Incas) that means 'Place of Orders'. It is a rectangular square that served as the main ceremonial and administrative center of Ollantaytambo. Its walls have niches and doors, where gold and silver ornaments were placed. Its main function was religious.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00d1aupa Iglesia<\/h2>\n

Leaving Ollanta a little, I invite you to take a walk in order to explore more of its surroundings and discover more of its landscapes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, approximately 1 hour walking, you will find \u00d1aupa Iglesia, located in Pachar, neighboring the city of Urubamba.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, \u00d1aupa Iglesia has the meaning of Old Church, and this peculiar place is said to be older than we can imagine. <\/span>The church is also comprised of carved ruins, and an intriguing altar at the entrance, where some elders believe it was here long before the Incas arrived and the Incas inherited this site.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moray \u2013 Sacred Valley of the Incas<\/h2>\n

Another point to visit in the Sacred Valley in Peru is Moray, where to enter it is necessary to purchase the Tourist Ticket, where the ticket allows entry to 4 attractions in the Sacred Valley: Ollantaytambo, Moray, Pisac and Chincheros.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are different types of boleto, with different prices and validity (check out more information about <\/span>tourist ticket<\/b>). The Salineras de Maras must be paid separately, as the place is managed by local families. Ticket to Maras costs 10 soles.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the ruins of Moray, in addition to its perfect forms, the place functioned as an agricultural laboratory. For example, i<\/span>nside each circular building, each level was called a terraza and was represented by a unique microclimate.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, on each terraza they tested which types of vegetables, tubers or plants would work in each of these different climatic conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salineras de Maras<\/h2>\n

Then, another place in the Sacred Valley of the Incas that you must visit is Salineras de Maras, where we were particularly impressed that it is not only in the sea that salt is extracted, but in the Maras Valley as well!<\/span><\/p>\n

Entrance costs only 10 soles and it has a good structure for tourists, with restrooms available and water for sale. If you walk, as we did, there is an option to take a taxi right in front of the place.<\/span><\/p>\n

The entire structure was built during the time of the Incas and has approximately 4,000 pools. In this sense, they receive water from channels that come from an underground spring of salt water located many kilometers away.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, its salt extraction process is extremely artisanal: where the water evaporates, the salt remains at the bottom and is removed in basins and then placed in bags. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, there are several types of salt, some being exported even to Japan. Very worth checking out!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoje em dia \u00e9 composta por seis pe\u00e7as, onde juntos formam um \u00fanico edif\u00edcio surpreendente, montado e polido . Essa constru\u00e7\u00e3o foi feita com blocos de pedra de at\u00e9 40 toneladas. \u00c9 uma das estruturas mais famosas de Ollantaytambo. O banho \u00f1usta\u00a0 \u00c9 um conjunto de aquedutos e canais que terminam numa estrutura em forma de fonte, que teria servido de banhos para a fam\u00edlia real do imperador. Tem tr\u00eas sa\u00eddas que despejam a mesma quantidade de \u00e1gua h\u00e1 centenas de anos. La real casa del sol\u00a0 \u00c9 um composto de paredes e fachadas que recebem os visitantes de Ollantaytambo no setor religioso e urbano. Onde \u00c9 formado por at\u00e9 dezessete estruturas em pedra polida de grande dimens\u00e3o e qualidade. \u00c9 uma das estruturas mais fotografadas do vilarejo. De l\u00e1 voc\u00ea tem uma vista privilegiada da cidade e do Vale Sagrado dos Incas. O portal monumental\u00a0 Esta estrutura constitu\u00edda por paredes de grande qualidade e um conjunto de dez nichos \u00e9 e principal acesso ao conjunto dos recintos da Fortaleza. Na \u00e9poca dos incas, o lugar teria sido decorado com pe\u00e7as de ouro e prata nas janelas. Pra\u00e7a Ma\u00f1ayraqay (K’uychipunku) Seu nome \u00e9 uma palavra quechua (l\u00edngua dos incas) que significa ‘Pra\u00e7a dos pedidos’. \u00c9 uma pra\u00e7a de formato retangular que serviu como principal centro cerimonial e administrativo de Ollantaytambo. Suas paredes possuem nichos e portas, onde eram colocados ornamentos de ouro e prata. Sua principal fun\u00e7\u00e3o era religiosa.           \u00d1aupa Iglesia Saindo um pouco de Ollanta, convido voc\u00ea a fazer uma caminhada a fim de explorar mais de suas redondezas e conhecer mais de suas paisagens. Do mesmo modo, aproximadamente 1 hora andando, voc\u00ea encontra a \u00d1aupa Iglesia, localizada em Pachar, vizinha da cidade de Urubamba. Em outras palavras, \u00d1aupa Iglesia tem o significado de Igreja Velha, e dizem que esse local peculiar pode ser mais antigo do que podemos imaginar. A igreja tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 composta por ru\u00ednas esculpidas, e um altar intrigante na entrada, onde alguns anci\u00f5es acreditam que j\u00e1 estavam aqui muito antes da chegada dos Incas e os Incas herdaram esse local.         Moray – Vale Sagrado dos Incas Outro ponto para se conhecer no Vale Sagrado no Peru \u00e9 Moray, onde para entrar \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio adquirir o Bilhete Tur\u00edstico, onde o ticket permite a entrada para 4 atra\u00e7\u00f5es do Vale Sagrado: Ollantaytambo, Moray, Pisac e Chincheros. H\u00e1 diferentes tipos de boleto, com pre\u00e7os e validades diferentes (confira mais informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o boleto tur\u00edstico). As Salineras de Maras devem ser pagas \u00e0 parte, pois o local \u00e9 administrado por fam\u00edlias locais. O ingresso para Maras custa 10 soles. Nas ru\u00ednas de Moray al\u00e9m de suas formas perfeitas, o local funcionava como um laborat\u00f3rio agr\u00edcola. Por exemplo, dentro de cada constru\u00e7\u00e3o circular, cada n\u00edvel \u00e9 chamado de terrazas e era representado por um microclima \u00fanico. Em outras palavras, em cada terraza eles testavam quais tipos de vegetais, tub\u00e9rculos ou plantas funcionariam em cada uma dessas diferentes condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas. Bem como suas diferen\u00e7as de temperaturas podiam ter uma diferen\u00e7a de at\u00e9 1 grau Celsius, al\u00e9m de varia\u00e7\u00e3o na press\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m.\u00a0 Nesse sentido, as temperaturas entre a base e o topo de uma constru\u00e7\u00e3o circular dessas poderiam chegar a 15 graus Celsius.       Salineras de Maras Em seguida, outro lugar do Vale Sagrado dos Incas que voc\u00ea precisa conhecer \u00e9 a Salineras de Maras, onde particularmente, ficamos impressionadas que n\u00e3o \u00e9 s\u00f3 no mar que o sal \u00e9 extra\u00eddo, mas sim no vale de Maras tamb\u00e9m! Sua entrada custa apenas 10 soles e conta com boa estrutura para turistas, tendo banheiros dispon\u00edveis e venda de \u00e1gua. Se voc\u00ea ir caminhando, como n\u00f3s fizemos, h\u00e1 op\u00e7\u00e3o de voltar de t\u00e1xi bem em frente ao local. A estrutura toda foi constru\u00edda na \u00e9poca dos Incas e possui aproximadamente 4 mil po\u00e7as. Nesse sentido, elas recebem \u00e1gua dos canais que vem de uma nascente subterr\u00e2nea de \u00e1gua salgada localizada a muitos quil\u00f4metros dali. Todavia, seu processo de extra\u00e7\u00e3o de sal \u00e9 extremamente artesanal: onde a \u00e1gua evapora, o sal sobra no fundo e \u00e9 retirado em bacias e em seguida colocados em sacos. Contudo, existem v\u00e1rios tipos de sal, alguns sendo exportados at\u00e9 para o Jap\u00e3o. Vale muito a pena conferir!         Conclus\u00e3o Motivos n\u00e3o faltam para conhecer o t\u00e3o maravilhoso e encantador Vale Sagrado dos Incas. Quando voc\u00ea for visitar lembrem de estarem com o peito bem aberto, pois \u00e9 um pa\u00eds totalmente cheio de boas energias e hist\u00f3rias lindas de vivenciar.
